Many are horrified by the crisis that is unfolding in Ukraine. In an emergency, every second counts. That’s why it’s crucial that Lutheran World Relief is ready to help.

When emergencies arise, it is your compassion and generosity that enables LWR to quickly deliver food, shelter, emergency supplies and other lifesaving aid to families in crisis, and the LWR team has been working nonstop to determine where help is most urgently needed – but they cannot respond to this crisis without your help.

Your gift to the World of Good Fund provides families facing crisis with emergency food, clean water, safe shelter, medical supplies and more. Your love will reach neighbors in Ukraine and around the world with the lifesaving care they need.

Will you reach out to families today with a gift to our World of Good Emergency Fund? Your gifts are a godsend, and I pray you will rush an emergency gift today.

2021 Christmas Blessings

Unto us this day is born a child who is the Christ! Born for our dreams achieved and disappointments in progress. Born for the wealthy and middle class and born for those in poverty, for whom a grown up Jesus will name a special blessing in what comes to be known as the Beatitudes. Born for the nations laboring for peace and born for those nations trapped in war. Born for us. Born for THIS world as a hope and promise for all people and all of God’s creation.

Oh, May these words of hope from scripture come alive for us as the Twelve Days of Christmas begin! May our hearts be renewed in the knowledge of Christ’s never-failing love for this world, and may our lives come to reflect this love in all of what we do and all of who we are.

Blessed Christmas Everyone.
Blessed birth of this, our Savior Jesus.

Gratitude Generator

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in God my heart trusts; so I am helped and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to God.“ - Psalm 28:7

In the midst of challenging times it can be difficult, seemingly even ridiculous to try and be grateful. Yet gratitude is a powerful antidote for stress and a powerful force to reframe perspective on our lives. And our confidence as people and as seeking to be Christ-followers is not that things will go well all the time, but that Christ travels with us as our strength and our shield. This is our trust and our hope. This is our gratitude-generator at holidays like Thanksgiving and year round.

And, if you’re going through difficult times, please know you are not alone. Reach out to me as pastor and to the Redeemer community for support. We‘re far from perfect, but with Christ‘s love and blessings we are stronger together - for each other and for the world.

Blessed Thanksgiving everyone.

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge.” - Psalm 57:1

This week we remember, twenty years later, the 2,996 people who lost their lives and the 25,000 more who were injured on 9-11, including the First Responders who ran towards what was happening, instead of away. This event continues to loom large in the hearts and lives and ethos of many in the United States, especially those of us living nearer to New York City. There are memorials in many towns, and of course in New York City itself. Yearly memorial gatherings have been held. We have striven to remember the tragedy of that day and those affected.

The Board of the Student Christian Center (SCC) gathered with Pastor Dianna and her family this past week to celebrate her retirement. Thanks to Pastor Dianna, our half-time pastor, and the hard work, dedication, and prayers of many, this ministry has grown significantly in its efforts to share the good news of Jesus’ love with students, staff, and faculty over the last ten years.
