World Hunger Relief
As of 2007, the World Bank estimates that approximately 17% of the world's population, or roughly 1 of every 6 people on Earth, live in extreme poverty.
Christ called for us to "Go and do likewise," and as a congregation that is what we have done. Redeemer supports local food pantries and other local non-profit organizations that provide food to those who are in need. We also provide support to the ELCA's World Hunger Relief Programs.
ELCA World Hunger is a comprehensive and sustainable program that uses multiple strategies - relief, development, education, and advocacy - to address the root causes of hunger and poverty. ELCA World Hunger responds to neighbors around the corner and around the world.
It's a program that serves with compassion people who are most vulnerable, paying focused attention to the full participation of women and the needs of children.
