Crop Walk

The New Paltz Crop Walk was started by retired Pastor Paul Walley in 1973, while he served as the campus pastor of the Student Christian Center. Originally named the "Walk A Thon For Hunger Relief", the "Walk" was first known as "United Nations World Food Program" and was held on the field track at the SUNY New Paltz. In that first year, 50 college students walked and raised $2,000.00.

On a beautiful New Paltz autumn day, 132 Walkers participated in the 2010 New Paltz CROP Walk. Thus far $14,908.00 has been raised through online donations, sponsored walkers and a silent auction. Late donations are anticipated to come in.

The 2010 New Paltz CROP Walk will be held on October 17, 2010.
The New Paltz WALK starts at SUNY Parking Lot #18 on corner of Plattekill Ave and South Manheim (also registration area). Up South Manheim to Rte 299 (Main Street), down to the Wallkill Rail Trail and heads north to Wallkill Bridge and then back to parking lot (total of 5 miles).
